CPAC TRAINING GROUPS & PRACTICEs
(Evaluations required for NEW Swimmers in White & Blue Groups)
Equipment: Fins, pull buoy, paddles, and snorkel (nose clip) are the responsibility of the swimmer.
White Group
(3 days per week)
This is our entry level group. An athlete (5 - 8 years-old) will need to be evaluated before registration in this group.
Workout Days/Times: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday at 4:00 - 4:45 PM
Blue Group
(5 days per week)
From the White group, athletes (7 - 11 years-old) move into this group and evaluation required prior to registration for new swimmers. Athletes in this group focus mainly on learning four legal competitive strokes, having fun, and perfecting start and turn technique.
Workout Days/Times: Monday – Friday at 4:45 - 5:45 PM
Gold Group
(5 days per week)
From the Blue group, athletes move into this group. Athletes in this group have completed the Blue Group move-up skills list are usually at least 10 years-old and goes up to 13 years-old. This group is exposed to training for the first time while trying to prepare for the 200 Freestyle and 200 Individual Medley races. Competing at swim meets is highly encouraged at a rate of about once per month.
Workout Days/Times: Monday - Friday at 4:45 - 5:45 PM
Junior Group
(6 days per week)
Minimum age for entry into this group is 11 years-old and goes up to 13 years-old. Athletes entering this group must display a desire to begin training on a more committed basis. Competition at swim meets is expected in this group. Training takes precedence over technique work for the first time in the athlete’s development. Athletes in this group train for the 200 Individual Medley and 500 Freestyle.
Workout Days/Times: Monday - Friday, 5:45 - 7:15 PM, Saturday 9:00 - 11:00 AM
Varsity Group
(6 days per week)
13 & up athletes who wish to make a commitment to swimming. This group is also designed for the middle school and high school swimmer who is competing for their schools.
Workout Days/Times: Monday – Thursday 5:45 – 7:45 PM, Friday 5:45 - 7:15 PM, Saturday 9:00 - 11:00 AM
(Dry-land / strength training at least TWO days a week TBD 4:45 - 5:45 PM and possibly Saturday morning)
Senior Group
(6 days per week)
Minimum age for entry into this group is 12 (girls) and 13 (boys). Athletes entering the Senior group must display a strong desire to perform at the highest level they are capable of. Training is geared towards individual talents, although a strong aerobic endurance factor is present. Athletes in the Senior group are directed towards making their Georgia Sectional Time Standards.
Workout Days/Times: Monday – Thursday 5:45 – 7:45 PM, Friday 5:45 - 7:15 PM, Saturday 9:00 - 11:00 AM
(Dry-land / strength training at least TWO days a week TBD 4:45 - 5:45 PM and possibly Saturday morning)
